The Altar: In Genesis 12:7-9 we can read verse 7, "And there he built an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him." And verse 8, "there he built an altar to the Lord and called on the name of the Lord." After Abram has completely obeyed God in moving to the land of Canaan, as in Genesis 11-12, he proceeds on to build an altar to call on the name of the Lord in prayer! Abram truly was a friend of God. Abram also constantly walked in communion with God! This writer is thinking what a spiritual resume!
What does our spiritual resume look like? Have we built our spiritual altars (a bed, a chair, a room, or even somewhere outside) to the Lord? Do we call in prayer on the name of the Lord? Example: call on Jehovah-jireh our provider in this US economy! Are we a friend of God? Do we walk in constant communion with almighty God? Let's all attempt to do as Enoch, Noah, and Abram did!!!!!!! Build altars and call on the Lord on our knees in prayer!!!!!! Let's get close to God!!! Writer, Jim Kultau
